Greenwood Cemetery
Founded in 1901, Greenwood Cemetery is not the oldest cemetery in Montgomery County, but it is well-known because of the people buried there. Former Alabama governors George and Lurleen Wallace, Auburn University sports broadcaster Jim Fyffe, Juliette Hampton Morgan, former head librarian of the Montgomery City-County Public library; and Bertha Pleasant Williams, the first professional African-American librarian in Montgomery, Alabama, were all laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery.
